Yap is one of those places that seems almost too fantastic to believe. I recall learning about the incredible stone money of Yap as a child. Now to actually see it and get involved in the culture was a real treat.

The stone money is still used and culturally valued. Interestingly the value of the money depends on many factors apart from just its size.

Apart from stone money, Yap is also famous for its manta rays. They are one of the most beautiful creatures I have ever seen. To watch them swooping past just a few feet feet away is a sight to behold. Diving with mantas is an experience not to be missed.
