  • This baby humpback is around 25 feet long and already has a few scars. The young humpbacks are very curious and playful and make repeated passes, getting so close I was gently hit by the tail despite my best efforts to get out of the way. Local hand made twine and ropes of different thicknesses are used to bind everything together in a flexible and strong structure that is able to withstand high winds.   • Called a Stone Book, this massive 11th century slab sings praises to King Nissanka Malla.  The writing on the stone is really an ancient piece of royal propaganda.  The stone was dragged over 100 km, before resting here for a millenium.<br />
