  • The traditional dances in Yap have no schedule and occur only when the people themselves decide to have a dance.  The Yap dancers are the most skilled and authentic Pacific dancers I have seen.   • During the day hundreds of kites can be seen flying over Varanasi.  At night the kite seller minds his stall in the semi darkness fixing and making kites ready for sale.<br />

  • Many people in India carry on much of their normal life outside.  At night there is very little light and as you walk around people suddenly emerge out of the darkness as they live out quiet scenes like this one.<br />

  • It is wonderful to wander deep into the dark backstreets of Varanasi and to discover these  dimly lit stalls, emerging like beacons from night. I could imagine that these stalls may have well been carrying on the same business wilh only minor changes for thousands of years.<br />
